Tax. Item A costs £100 but must be impoted. So then Import tax is applied at say 15%, so now it's £115. Then the government add VAT at wahtever it is now. used to be 17.5% I think it's 18% now. But there's the thing: it's 18% of £115. so now it's £20.70. So that £100 item costs £135.70. Plus shipping. And even if there's no shipping because it's digital, you get this huge chunk on top for taxes and a charge for dealign with taxes and a couple of dollars on top because hey why not skim a few extra dollars per unit?
Also, jaysus, I just converted 50 pounds to US dollars: $80! How come I only have to pay $60 and you have to pay $80?!
Pay for it with bottle caps. http://imgur.com/gallery/tYZPO#HCZyOUM
What, you don't have 50 pounds just lying around? Pfft. Check your sofa cushions. That's POCKET CHANGE for a wealthy woman such as myself. My toilet paper roll has randomly interspersed dollar bills in with the regular sheets. Two ply.
I will totally pre-order Fallout when I have money and the store page has min-specs and an explanation of what I get for £50, e.g. there better be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC season pass.
