PT1 I'm leaving Steam and video games probably forever. I fell victim to a phishing scam last week and all TF2 items were stolen from me. I recovered my account, but the damage is done. After conversing with Steam support, I've come to the conclusion that I've better things to do in life than play video games. Honestly, it was a much needed wake-up call. To all my close digital buddies, thank you for all the good times over the years . It's been real. Team Fortress 2 = the greatest video game ever made and has been a source of a lot of fond memories. I'll miss it, but I'll be better off without it. Just for reference, here is my final message that I sent to Steam support that echoes some of the same sentiments I've already expressed here:
PT2"14 Years down the drain. I'm crushed. I'm done with Steam, Valve, and Team Fortress 2. Honestly, it's for the better. I can focus on more important things in life. But this stings like hell, and I'm absolutely floored that Steam has no way to reconcile this kind of issue. After countless attempts I've thwarted from scammers and the such - One got through. I know you can trace my items and get them back but won't because it'd require someone to step away from the water cooler and "look into it". I've given Valve a lot of my hard earned money over the years and never asked for any of it back. You're policies make the victim feel like they are the one that did something wrong. Good riddance to Valve and video games.
Zebra, OUT!"
